I Could Not Ask For More

This is a beautiful song, written by Diane Warren and made famous by Sara Evans.

When I hear the lyrics, I think of my children – the words express how I feel about each one of them.

I wish I had the voice to sing it with a few changes to the lyrics.

Here is a performance by Edwin McCain:

Lying here with you, listening to the rain.
Smiling just to see a smile upon your face.
And these are the moments I’ll remember all my life.
I found all I’ve waited for and I could not ask for more.
Looking in your eyes, seeing all I need.
Girl, I think you are it’s everything to me.
These are the moments I know heaven must exist.
These are the moments I know all I need is this.
I have all I’ve waited for and I could not ask for more.

[Riff:]
I could not ask for more than this time together.
I couldn’t ask for more that this time with you.
Every breath has been answered. Every dream that has come through.
Yeah, right here in this moment, it’s that we’re all meant to be.
(Oh) here with you, here with me.

And these are the moments I thank God that I’m alive.
And these are the moments I’ll remember all my life.
I’ve got all I’ve waited for and I could not ask for more.

[Repeat Ruff]

I could not ask for more than the love you gave me
cuz it’s all I’ve waited for.
And I could not ask for more.
