Darren
B. Rankins participates in as many community activities
that he can, both to increase exposure for Pure Thoughts
and his mission, and to lend support to people who need
his assistance. Here are a few activities he has been
involved in over the past year.
WGNS Radio with Mary Glass
On
Sunday, March 16, 2003 at 6:30 AM Darren
B. Rankins was a guest on the program “To
God Be the Glory” with Host Mary Glass on
WGNS Talk Radio AM 1450.
He
discussed his poetry and played excerpts from
the CD that he just released November 2003.

Nashville
Public Library
Darren
had a successful appearance at the Hadley Park Branch
Library on February 15, 2003. He spoke on the steps necessary
to be successful at publishing books. He explained how
he got started with his Pure Thoughts business. Darren
recited a selection of his poems and allowed people to
listen to a sample of his upcoming Pure Thoughts, Volume
One CD. Darren answered questions from the audience
and enjoyed interacting with those in attendance.

Darren wrote
a poem about the"Trail
of Tears" for
a Native American newspaper. He also finished
a poem for Robert Orr, Jr. painting entitled "Tennessee,
Home Where
I Belong" This artwork and poem was shown at the
Old Bradley School in Mufreesboro, Tennessee on August
8, 9 and 10. The Pow Wow was held October 17, 18 and
19
in
LaVergne, Tennessee.
