Life Still Has A Meaning

If there is a future there is time for mending-
Time to see your troubles coming to an ending.

Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow-
If you’re looking forward to a new tomorrow.

If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping-
When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.

Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling-
If there is time for praying there is time for healing.

So if through your window there is a new day breaking-
Thank God for the promise, though mind and soul be aching,

If with harvest over there is grain enough for gleaning-
There is a new tomorrow and life still has meaning.

A Little Fellow Follows Me

by Rev. Claude Wisdom White, Sr

A careful man I ought to be,
A little fellow follows me.
I dare not go astray,
For fear he’ll go the self-same way.

I cannot once escape his eyes,
Whatever he see me do, he tries.
Like me, he says, he’s going to be,
The little chap who follows me.

He thinks that I am good and fine,
Believes in every word of mine.
The base in me he must not see,
That little fellow who follows me.

I must remember as I go,
Thru summers’ sun and winters’ snow.
I am building for the years to be,
In the little chap who follows me.

You’re the Only Way

by Crislyn Olayvar

Sometimes, I get lost upon a cloud of tears
And blinding fog, to my eye would pierce;
But I know I only have to pause and pray,
Because Lord, You’re the Only Way.

When the waves of sorrow engulf my soul
And worry keeps me inside this gaunt hole;
I know that to You, everything I would lay
Because Lord, You’re the Only Way.

Sometimes the knife of rage would stab my heart
And my head feels like falling apart.
I canot find a way to mend them back but pray,
Because Lord, You’re the Only Way.

You’re the Only Road, I know; the Only Way,
Even if among a billion stars I’ll go astray,
You will still be there, ever near,
I will always remember that, as i whisper an earnest prayer.

Build a Box of Friendship

Chuck Pool

Into a box of friendship
To insure that it is strong
First a layer of respect
On the bottom does belong
Then to the sides attach
In the corners where they meet
Several anchors full of trust
Devoid of all deceit
The height of friendship can be measured
By the sides of four
So make them all a larger cut
And the box will hold much more
Now fill it up with courtesy
Honor and esteem
Understanding, sympathy
And passion for a dream
Add to that your honesty
Emotions joy and love
And since they’re so important
Place them up above
But leave the box wide open
So all can see inside
To learn what makes a friendship work
From the box you built with pride

A True Friend

By Jonha D. Revesencio

I feel comfort with her gentle words,
Pretty sure that she really cares and an angel sent by the Lord.
She’s always there for me and assure that there’s always a rainbow,
After the rain all the blessings will flow.

I don’t have second thoughts to share with her my most sacred clandestine,
For I know I could trust her she definitely is not obscene,
She is a real benison in disguise,
She always gives me joy after my cries.

I’m very thankful to Him for giving me such a great friend,
With her all my wounds we’re easily mend,
I’m so happy for having a friend that is so true,
And that friend is YOU.

Trees

by Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A next of robins in her hair.

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

First Poem by Toto

Roses are red,

violets are blue,

Broken toes hurt

When stuck in a shoe.

Late

I never had the so called ‘friends’ back then,
Maybe its because I was never talented and looked like a timid hen.
Whenever our teacher asks for someone to recite,
I was always nervous and tremulous with fright,
Though she was trying to be polite.
Some children of my age didn’t noticed me,
I was never likable nor attractive, you see.

I could still remember that someone would just approach me suddenly,
Then back off and leave me alone whenever he pleases to be.
That’s what bothers me now,
That I never got to have ‘friends’ and mingle with them somehow.
I pity myself for not being approachable,
For I am suffering the consequences, and regret them all.
But I just can never bring back the time,
And just blame myself for commiting such ‘crime’.
That’s why how I wish it’s not yet too late,
For me to change, and to be better mate.

Simple Friends and Real Friends

A simple friend can stand by you when you are right,
but a real friend will stand by you even when you are wrong.

A simple friend identifies himself when he calls.
A real friend doesn’t have to.

A simple friend opens a conversation with a full news bulletin on his life.
A real friend says, “What’s new with you?”

A simple friend thinks the problems you whine about are recent.
A real friend says, “You’ve been whining about the same thing for 14 years.
Get off your duff and do something about it.”

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn’t know your parents’ first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
Real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself/herself.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend knows that it’s not a friendship until after you’ve had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

Weep No More

I understand your love for her wasn’t successful,
I could feel the wound that couldn’t be easily mend which makes you sorrowful.
You’ve given her almost everything,
Just to make her feel how much you love her and you’re ready to give her what love could bring.

Yet suddenly she told you that she doesn’t love you,
Never realizing how genuine your love for her and simply true.
There you go punishing yourself to death,
Losing your hope and trying to bid your last breath.

Never did you realize that someone shares with your agony,
Someone who honestly cares for you and simply wants you to be happy.
So why don’t you look around and weep no more,
For surely there’s someone else that to you secretly adore.
