As of April 2020, the temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been temporarily closed in response to the Coronavirus Epidemic. One of the beautiful blessings received from the temples are the scheduled prayers for names placed on the prayer roll.
Many of us have been asked (or told) to stay in our homes until the virus is abated, but there is something powerful that we can do as we shelter in place – we can unite in prayer.
This website and its corresponding Facebook group have been formed to fill the void left by the closing of the temples. We officially began at 12:00 AM GMT on March 29, 2020, in conjunction with the 24-hour fast President Russell M. Nelson invited us to join.
Our purpose is not to take the place of the prayer roll or collect names. We’d like everyone to keep a list of their own by their bed or wherever they pray. As we gather together in prayer, please ask for blessings upon the names of the lists kept by members of our group. We are not required to follow the temple standard of keeping names for only two weeks – let the Spirit guide you in whom to include on your list.
People of all faiths are welcome to join our group on Facebook!
Reminders will be scheduled every six hours to start, based on Greenwich Mean Time. Remember, whenever two or more are gathered in His name, there He is also.
This website is not an official site of or affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It has been created by members of the church in an effort to be anxiously engaged in a good cause.
